Dietitian Services

Nutrition education and counselling provided by Registered Dietitians. Dietitians are registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) and are governed by the Health Professions Act, Dietitians Regulation, and CHCPBC Bylaws. This is to ensure that dietitians have the competencies and meet the standards to provide safe and ethical care.

I’m a Registered Dietitian with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Dietetics from the University of British Columbia. I have supported many individuals and families to get back on track with their nutrition and develop a healthier, more joyful relationship with food.

Like so many of us growing up, I was surrounded by misleading nutrition information and unhelpful messaging about the kind of relationship I should have with my body. Because of this, I understand how confusing it can be as an adolescent and even now as an adult to make evidence-based decisions about food and my body.

More often than not, we end up constructing food rules, following restrictive diets and get stuck in an “all or nothing” mentality that does not honour our body’s needs. My mission is to help you discover that food is not only our fuel, but rather a vehicle for building connections, creating memories, and that we can eat for pleasure and enjoyment.

Practicing from an anti-diet, “health at every size” approach is important to me. I recognize that working to free yourself from guilt around food and cultivating a more compassionate relationship with your body is not an easy process. I will support you to sort through the endless amount of health (mis)information that exists out there and provide both emotional and nutritional guidance to optimize your eating for both physical and mental well-being.

As a practitioner applying an anti-diet and health at every size approach, I support individuals to pursue health-promoting behaviours without the focus on intentional weight loss. There is evidence to support that body size does not have a direct effect on health, and that engaging in healthy behaviours can have a greater impact than one’s BMI.
